Job Summary Information Technology – Network Specialist
Department: Information Technology
Responsibilities Responsible for installation and problem solving related to infrastructure hardware or software. Under general supervision, configure, install, monitor, diagnose, and repair enterprise telecom/data network equipment. Install and upgrade equipment according to specifications and user needs. Prioritize calls based on established policies and practices. Responsible for internal escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance. Interface with customers during outages where the loss of service may have a serious impact on their ability to do their job. Provide input to testing of new products, and to telecom/network engineers on supportability of products. Occasionally work under stressful conditions while participating in implementations and troubleshooting efforts that may have significant patient care and/or financial impact to the organization. Demonstrate knowledge of basic telecom/network monitoring and management tools. Provide input to coworkers' evaluations.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or an Associate’s degree with a minimum of 2 years professional technical work experience. A minimum of 4 years of professional technical experience required for individuals without a degree. Other Qualifications: Knowledge of telecom/network protocols, 7-layer OSI model, software, hardware, and cabling systems. Must be able to work with minimum direction and work effectively in a team environment. Must be customer focused and possess excellent communications and interpersonal skills to interact with a variety of personnel at various levels. Good organizational and time management skills are required to handle workload and prioritize repairs. Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills are also a necessity.

Compensation $30.25 - $40.84 / hour

Hours/Pay Period: 80
Schedule Details: Wednesday - Saturday 2pm - midnight (will participate in an on-call rotation)
Weekend Schedule: Saturday 2pm - Midnight
