Responsible for installation and problem solving related to infrastructure hardware or software. Under general supervision, configures, installs, monitors, diagnoses, and repairs enterprise telecom/data network equipment. Installs and upgrades equipment according to specifications and needs of the equipment user. Prioritizes calls based on established prioritization policies and practices. Responsible for internal escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance. Interfaces with customers during outages where the loss of service may have a serious impact on their ability to do their job. Provides input to testing of new products. Provides input to telecom/network engineers on supportability of products. Occasionally works under stressful conditions, participating in implementations and troubleshooting efforts that may have significant patient care and/or financial impact to the organization. Demonstrates knowledge of basic telecom/network monitoring and management tools. Provides input to coworkers evaluations. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or an Associate's degree with a minimum of 2 years professional technical work experience. A minimum of 4 years of professional technical experience required for individuals without a degree. Other qualifications: Knowledge of telecom/network protocols, 7-layer OSI model, software, hardware, and cabling systems. Must be able to work with minimum direction and work effectively in a team environment. Must be customer focused and possess excellent communications and interpersonal skills to interact with a variety of personnel at various levels within and outside the institution. Good organizational and time management skills are required to handle the workload and prioritize repairs. Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills are also a necessity. Compensation Detail
$30.25 - $40.84 / hour Schedule
Full Time – 80 hours per week, Wednesday – Saturday 2pm – midnight. (Will participate in an on-call rotation) Equal Opportunity
