Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Quality Associate
The Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Quality Associate is an integral part of the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) Investigations Support Team, supporting FIU teams by performing quality assurance (QA) tasks related to suspicious activity decisions. This role collaborates closely with investigators to ensure that potentially unusual or suspicious transactions are accurately identified, documented, and filed with the proper authorities. The AML Quality Associate escalates to leadership any suspicious activity investigation that has not been decisioned appropriately within the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/AML framework and company policies and procedures. Responsibilities
Collaborate with FIU Supervisors and Investigators to uphold investigation quality standards. Assist the Investigations team in process improvements, change management, and quality assurance. Identify and document potential gaps, providing training and improvement suggestions for both investigation and quality processes. Partner with quality leadership, supervisors, and investigators to develop a deep understanding of the investigation process. Review Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) decisions to ensure the decision framework is appropriate and thorough. Assess supporting documentation for accuracy and alignment with SAR decisions. Verify that all appropriate fields in the SAR form are completed correctly, the SAR narrative is thorough, and the required supporting documentation is obtained and maintained within Actimize. Document activity that is out of compliance with BSA regulatory guidance and/or AML policies and procedures. Assist Quality Management with developing reporting, metrics, and maintaining AML quality policies and procedures. Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification. At least 1 year of Microsoft Office or Google Suite experience. At least 2 years of Anti-Money Laundering experience. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or military experience. 1 year of Quality Assurance experience or 1 year of Quality Control audit experience. 2 years of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) investigative experience. ACAMS certification. Work‑From‑Home Requirements
A secure home office environment free from background noise and distractions. A reliable private internet connection with download speeds of at least 5 Mbps (10 Mbps preferred), not using cellular hotspot. Internet latency less than 250 ms for voice calls. Hard‑wired connectivity preferred; if wireless is used, it must be private and password protected through WPA2‑PSK (AES) encryption. Owner/operator of a private network with secure, password‑protected access to all devices. Capital One reserves the right to request proof of internet provider, speed, and service package. Annual salary ranges (example): Chicago, IL – $72,800 – $83,100; Jericho, NY – $87,400 – $99,700; McLean, VA – $80,100 – $91,400; New Orleans, LA – $72,800 – $83,100; Plano, TX – $72,800 – $83,100; Richmond, VA – $72,800 – $83,100; Wilmington, DE – $72,800 – $83,100. The role is eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation, including cash bonus(es) and/or long‑term incentives.
