Position Overview This role focuses on financial forecasting and analysis, partnering with business units to develop Capital and O&M budgets that consolidate into the overall forecast. The analyst will manage relationships with budgeting and forecasting teams, provide variance explanations, prepare management reports, and support regulatory filings.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain relationships with budgeting and forecasting business units.
Analyze Capital and O&M spend to provide quick, concise variance explanations to senior management.
Prepare monthly and annual management reports and presentations.
Conduct sensitivity analyses requested by senior management to support strategic decision‑making.
Support analysis and reporting to external parties including investors, rating agencies, and SEC.
Interface business unit budgets into the FPL forecasting software Utilities International (“UI”).
Manage the monthly FPL forecast, including forecasted cash flow and cash‑flow variance analysis.
Assist with regulatory filings with the Florida Public Service Commission.
Identify and implement process improvements to make forecasting and reporting more timely and accurate.
Job Duties & Responsibilities (Additional)
Identify, analyze, and communicate financial impacts on the company’s structure, profitability, and competitive position.
Provide financial analysis support for projects, calculating revenue requirements, NPV, customer bill impact, etc.
Offer financial training and support to company departments.
Perform financial analyses required by management or regulatory bodies.
Make financing recommendations and execute long‑ and short‑term financings.
Prepare PowerPoint presentations for senior and executive management.
Mentor lower‑level employees.
Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
