Assistant Wrestling Coach - High School

We are looking for an Assistant Wrestling Coach to join our team for the 25/26 Season. The total stipend for this position is $3,000, paid at the completion of the season.
The After School Athletics Coach is responsible for facilitating and coordinating activities related to the assigned athletic sport. The coach is also responsible for coaching, managing, and enforcing safety protocols for students participating in the sport, as well as supervising and evaluating all students within their assignment. They are committed to the Atlantis Charter School Board of Trustees’ policies regarding equity, human rights and cross‑cultural understanding and report directly to the Athletic Director or their designee.

Qualifications
Previous experience coaching in a similar sport strongly preferred.
Experience teaching and coaching techniques appropriate to the assigned sport preferred.
Ability to acquire First Aid, CPR, AED and Concussion training certifications. Ability to acquire training as required by the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA).
Possession of a valid Driver’s License, if transporting students.
Availability to attend activities, practices, games, and meetings outside of school hours as necessary.
Dependability and reliability.
Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
Ability to relate well to others.
Reports To Athletic Director and Principal
Supervision Coach Assistants, if any assigned
Roles and Responsibilities
Maintains current First‑Aid, CPR, and Concussion training, if required by the particular sport, or based on availability of coaches at the activity site.
Keeps up to date with any necessary training for assigned sport.
Attends regular coach meetings organized by the Athletic Director to discuss topics such as student eligibility, practice schedules, practice locations, documentation, equipment needs, and any general concerns or questions.
Creates an environment where students are supported and encouraged to participate in the athletics program.
Adheres to practice schedules, student practice rules and medical compliance as required by the league.
Strictly upholds and enforces standards and rules of the athletic program, especially safety rules and standards.
Sets appropriate boundaries for students based on school rules.
Models positive behavior and fair play.
Instructs students in the proper use of equipment and sets up equipment for practice and games as necessary.
Notifies Athletic Director or Game Day Assistant in a timely manner of any misuse of athletic equipment and need for any replacement equipment.
Trains students in the basic skills necessary for the assigned sport.
Works with staff volunteers as needed.
Works with students and Athletic Director to ensure all documentation is submitted by deadlines.
Assists, as needed, in planning, executing an awards ceremony for students at the end of the school year.
Maintains professional appearance, including wearing ACS branded attire on game days.
Attends all necessary meetings at Atlantis relating to the Athletics Program, including all Conference/League Pre‑season, Post‑Season, and All‑Star meetings.
Keeps Athletic Director and Game Day Assistant up to date on games, practices, and related issues or concerns.
Maintains records of student athlete attendance for practices and games, varsity game statistics for Conference/League end‑of‑season reports, and equipment and uniform assignments and returns.

Terms of Employment Stipend as negotiated per agreement.
Work Environment Ability to run, walk, sit, and stand for long periods. May be outside during inclement weather for practices and games. Travel to and from games, practices and meetings required.
