A respected commercial law firm in the Cayman Islands is seeking a Senior Barrister (8+ years’ call) with substantial expertise in Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence. This rare opportunity offers the chance to take a lead role in developing an underrepresented but high-value market within a jurisdiction experiencing rapid growth in healthcare and medical tourism.

Opportunity Overview The Cayman Islands is witnessing increasing demand for Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence expertise, driven by an expanding population, a thriving private healthcare sector, and a shortage of specialist practitioners. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in establishing and growing this practice area, handling both claimant and defendant matters while positioning the firm as a go-to provider for insurers and complex, high-value cases.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and expand the Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence practice, building a strong profile in the jurisdiction.

Act for both claimants and defendants in complex, high-value disputes.

Develop relationships with insurers, medical institutions, and other stakeholders to drive growth.

Utilise existing firm infrastructure while identifying opportunities for future team expansion and specialisation.

What’s on Offer

Highly competitive base salary (USD $180–200K) plus performance bonus and long-term earning potential.

Full relocation assistance and integration support for those moving to the Cayman Islands.

A rare opportunity to establish and lead a specialist practice in a growing offshore market.

This position is ideally suited to a senior, commercially minded barrister seeking leadership responsibility and the opportunity to shape a new practice within a dynamic, forward‑looking firm.

With no direct personal income tax, world‑class infrastructure, and a safe, welcoming environment, the Cayman Islands offers not only professional opportunity but also an enviable quality of life in one of the Caribbean’s most desirable jurisdictions.
