OVERVIEW
PCE, a live events production company, is seeking a
Senior Staff Accountant
to support our company in Huntington Beach, CA. PCE focuses on offering a remarkable client experience through customer service and industry expertise. The Senior Staff Accountant will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will be responsible for preparing and maintaining financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. This role also includes supervising one direct report in Accounts Receivable. All work will take place in the office.
DUTIES
You will be expected to carry out the duties and responsibilities described below, as well as all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. These duties and responsibilities are periodically updated to reflect evolving business needs.
Performs general cost accounting and related duties.
Assist in preparing monthly financial statements.
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger.
Process payroll and ensure accurate reporting.
Code invoices, set up new accounts, and close monthly books.
Reconcile bank accounts monthly; verify deposits and resolve bank inquiries.
Reconcile cash disbursements, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts.
Verify and process accounts payable invoices, ensuring proper account allocation.
Support external audits by gathering necessary documentation and account information.
Supervise one direct report in Accounts Receivable.
Stay current and adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite for daily tasks.
Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
Demonstrate understanding of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
Perform other duties and administrative tasks as assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
Minimum of five years of experience in a senior accounting role.
Experience in cost accounting and general financial accounting.
Experience working in both large structured and small entrepreneurial organizations.
Prior experience supervising or mentoring staff is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field or CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Experience with payroll processing and reconciliation.
Ability to manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and financial statements.
Analytical & Organizational Skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data.
Ability to analyze financial information and identify discrepancies.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Capable of handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal departments and external stakeholders.
Comfortable interfacing with auditors, vendors, and clients.
