Clearance Requirement Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; the ability to obtain & maintain HSPD & Secret, preferred HSPD‑12 & Secret Active.
License/Certification Requirement
Must be certified/licensed in pipefitting, steam fitting or sprinkler systems and have a valid journeymen plumber’s license.
Master's Plumber’s license issued by Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission preferred.
Backflow Certified, highly preferable, or eligible and willing to obtain within 90 days of employment.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the assembly, installation, modification, and repair of all pipes and plumbing systems.
Maintain and upgrade plumbing equipment and piping.
Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on all plumbing‑related equipment.
Report to the Shift Operating Engineer.
Other duties include installing and/or repairing various plumbing equipment (water heaters, drinking fountains, toilets, sinks, etc.) throughout the facility.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10+ years relevant experience and a High School diploma or GED.
U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain security clearances as described above.
Certified/licensed in pipefitting, steam fitting or sprinkler systems and a valid journeymen plumber’s license.
Master's Plumber’s license issued by Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission preferred.
Backflow Certified, highly preferable, or eligible and willing to obtain within 90 days of employment.
Abilities
Lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Relocate a 12‑foot stepladder without assistance.
Work at various heights up to 60 feet on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and ladders.
Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead regularly.
Possess good vision (may be corrected), color vision, and hearing and communication in English.
Recognize problems and apply general rules to produce solutions.
Combine information to form conclusions and understand details at close range.
Listen and understand spoken information.
