Base pay: $22.64 per hour. Objective
Sanitation Associates will clean and sanitize the building, grounds, and equipment used to produce finished products. All cleaning and sanitizing will comply with all laws, policies, and standards governing food safety and quality. Sanitation Associates must report all food safety and quality issues that may occur. Summary
Attend regularly and on time. Work schedule 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; must be able to work weekends/holidays/overtime when required. Schedule may change due to cleaning needs. Responsibilities
Maintain overall cleanliness of the facility and all processing equipment. Perform all assigned cleaning tasks within the designated zone of the facility. Follow all site‑specific Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and cleaning practices. Maintain facility grounds in a clean and sanitary condition. Support the pest control program by removing potential pest harborage areas. Ensure chemical concentrations used in cleaning and sanitation activities are within the specified range. Keep processing areas organized, clean, and sanitary. Perform Clean In Place (CIP) cleaning tasks on designated equipment. Maintain employee break areas, locker rooms, and restrooms in a clean and sanitary condition. Inspect equipment after cleaning and sanitation to ensure effectiveness. Maintain sanitation storage areas. Report equipment damage to maintenance as required. Perform allergen cleaning and sanitation activities as required. Lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. Maintain cleaning tools in a clean and sanitary condition. Record all cleaning and sanitation tasks on paperwork as required. Maintain wash bays in a clean and sanitary manner. Complete all assigned training activities, including: Pest Control Chemical Training Chemical Titration 7 Steps of Sanitation & Lock‑Out‑Tag‑Out (LOTO) PIT Training (if applicable) Skyjack / Boom Lift Training (if applicable) Allergen Cleaning and Sanitation Clean In Place (CIP) Systems Drain Cleaning and Sanitation Dry Cleaning and Sanitation Skills & Requirements
Logic and reasoning ability – problem‑solving regarding quality requirements and testing; working knowledge of safety communication and basic English literacy. Work experience – 1 to 4 weeks for basic skills; 3 to 9 months for progressive responsibility. Analytical ability – minimal; simple visual comparisons. Independent judgment – routine work under close supervision; errors minor, safety or contamination subject to supervisor correction. Contact with others – frequent contact with team members; no external contact. Physical ability – stand, walk, and perform long periods; lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 20 lbs constantly; climbing, bending, stooping, crawling, pushing, pulling; ability to read PM sheets and mix cleaning ingredients; tolerate temperatures above 100 °F and below freezing; occasional confined‑space work. Environmental – noisy workspace, non‑climate‑controlled environment. Dependability – good attendance. Safety
Adhere to OSHA policies and company safety procedures. Submit documentation for safety hazards when identified. Avoid rushing, awkward positions, and lifting heavy objects alone. Maintain an accident‑free record. Be LOTO trained and understand LOTO procedures. Food Safety
Understanding of HACCP. Follow all GMPs. Follow allergen procedures. Monitor product surfaces and work area for cross‑contamination. Immediately report foreign material or food safety risks to a supervisor. Demonstrate leadership for food safety culture. Additional Information
Work at a food manufacturing facility requiring GMP compliance. Safety shoes required from day one. Fast‑paced, physically demanding work requiring lifting, bending, reaching, standing, and fine motor skills. 90‑day probationary period with weekly performance and attendance reviews. Pre‑employment background check and drug test required. Seniority Level
