Taylor Career Level Primary Responsibilities (The What)

This is an Entry/Junior Level role at Taylor, focused on learning and assisting others. With considerable direction and guidance, Junior Account Executives work within defined limits on assignments, demonstrating basic craft skills and knowledge reflective of previous study and/or on the job learning. Junior Account Executives are also expected to uphold Taylor’s vision and values through personal behaviors.

Client Business and Mar/Comm Strategy

Conduct media monitoring, competitive audits, and other relevant client research to develop an understanding of the client’s business, brand, and industry

Contribute to the development of client presentations and reports that highlight relevant themes, trends, and implications for program development

Communication & Storytelling

Write, present, and communicate in a polished, articulate, and persuasive manner across all mediums, internally and externally

Listen well, build relationships internally and externally through respect and responsiveness

Begin to learn and understand the agency’s business model, structure, and offerings, and how they come together in service of a client partner’s business needs

Influencer Relations & Pitching

Proactively pitch media on an ongoing basis, developing and maintaining key influencer relationships across local, regional, and national print, broadcast, and online channels

Develop robust media lists, pitch notes, and message points that are on strategy and meet client brand and business objectives

Write, coordinate, and distribute press materials, press kits, fact sheets, and mailings

Proactively identify media relations challenges and work to develop solutions that remain on brand and on strategy

Activation & Program Management

Actively participate in program ideation and planning, demonstrating knowledge across a variety of channels such as events, media tours, social influencer programs, stunts, sponsorships, digital content, etc.

Responsible for team/client meeting coordination including scheduling, agendas, materials preparation, note taking, etc.

Responsible for tactical elements of program activation including project plans, timelines, status reports, travel coordination, document preparation, mailings, etc.

May attend events and assist with on‑site event coordination

Assist with community management and influencer engagement across relevant digital platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)

Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly cross‑channel monitoring and reporting, demonstrating a basic understanding of KPI's across channels

Contribute to development and delivery of campaign/program re‑caps, reports, and other client presentation materials

Business Acumen & Financials

Complete timesheets accurately and in a timely manner

Actively participate in monthly team allocations meetings

Assist with program budget and expense reconciliation, and begins to partner with Finance on vendor billing

People Management

May oversee the work of an Intern, beginning to learn and practice effective delegation, training, feedback delivery, recognition, expectation management, and other managerial skills

Demonstrate diversity of thought, and encourages others to do the same

May participate in interviewing and selecting Interns for the agency

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, PR or related field and/or equivalent work experience

1+ years prior experience in PR/marketing agencies, inclusive of internships

Active on social media and knowledgeable about the latest platforms and content trends

Interested in the impact brand marketing can have on various segments of culture

Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Strong attention to detail, organization, multitasking, and time-management

Writes, presents, and communicates in an articulate and persuasive manner, across a variety of platforms, including social media

Team player who enjoys working with and helping others in a collaborative environment

Curious and open to others' ideas and viewpoints with a willingness to learn and take constructive feedback

A good problem solver who seeks to make improvements and learns from mistakes

Must reside in the New York Metro area and be able to commute to our Manhattan office as needed
