JOB SUMMARY
Develop and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent across all levels of the organization. Primarily responsible for the planning, organizing and fulfillment of operational/manufacturing labor needs. Key duties of the position will focus on internal & external recruiting needs & processes and supporting the HR department as it pertains to onboarding, orientation, and employee retention and wellness initiatives.
Essential Requirements DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruitment
Manages the recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding for hourly manufacturing positions; directs the flow within the recruiting team
Conducts intake meetings with hiring managers for office roles and ensures the completion of job requisition forms, job description updates
Collaborate with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process as needed, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, etc.
Develop and post ads on career websites, newspapers, social media pages, etc.
Owns the interview process (resume screens, phone screens, onsite interviews, offers, and hiring decisions)
Ensures the staffing needs of the company are met, using research and creativity to meet current needs, with a long‑term approach in mind
Devises sourcing strategies to build pipelines of potential and future applicants
Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization
Support the talent community development (including University relationships)
Employee Retention & Wellness
Help support and execute wellness initiatives in coordination with HR to effectively promote internal programs and resources for optimal engagement by supporting the strategy and providing employee feedback when received
Lead employee retention‑based initiatives such as stay interviews, employee check‑ins at 30, 60, 90 days, & exit interviews
Onboarding
Administer specific onboarding tasks for manufacturing and office positions including performing reference checks, background checks, and drug tests on qualified candidates post offer
Confirms new hire orientation details and training schedules with new hires
Supports the coordination and organization of new hire orientation and prepare materials needed
General
Orientation – provide input for orientation presentations, presenting - Meet the Team, Handbook, General Policies, DEI, Feedback slides. Provide backup to HR generalist for the benefit, wellbeing, and community impact slides.
Supports the Mission of the organization and adheres to all company policies
Maintains all applicant documentation
Maintains and reports daily and weekly metrics
Assists employees, supervisors, and leads providing day‑to‑day support
Performs other duties as directed
Key Competencies
Candidate outreach / “headhunting” experience is strongly preferred
Strong computer skills, proficient in Word, Outlook, and Excel
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – able to connect with a variety of disciplines
Knowledge of recruitment marketing strategies and employer branding
Proactive and determined with the ability to take initiative and be creative
Education And Experience Requirements
2 years of post‑secondary education in HR or equivalent understanding of HR laws and regulations
At least 2 years’ experience in recruitment, staffing, PR, or brand management
Experience with social media advertising platforms, including LinkedIn and Facebook.
Recruiting experience in manufacturing or staffing industry
Minimum 3 years’ current HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Physical Demands
Primarily sedentary work, involving prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and performing tasks requiring manual dexterity, such as typing and writing.
Occasional standing, walking, and moving around the office and production floor.
May require occasional lifting or carrying of light materials, typically up to 20 pounds.
Working Environment
Work is primarily conducted in a typical office environment, with controlled indoor temperatures, standard lighting, and minimal noise.
Periodic visits to the production area may involve exposure to varying temperatures, higher noise levels, and potential contact with dust, fumes, or other airborne particles. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
This is an onsite role with hybrid opportunity potential after 90 days.
The compensation range for this position is $59,435 - $81,723. Final offers may vary based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The posted range represents the expected earning potential for this position within the current organizational budget and market conditions.
