Regional Sales Manager - Rocky Mountains
GEOTEK LLC is hiring the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) for the Rocky Mountains region. This role focuses on managing and growing revenue for the PUPI crossarm, PUPI utility pole, and Alliance light pole brands at Electric Utility customers in the Rocky Mountain West. The RSM will generate a territory sales strategy and manage an existing network of independent manufacturers’ representatives, to establish and maintain relationships with end-users and distributors and grow profitable sales revenue. The position reports to the West Region Sales Director and collaborates with Marketing, the PUPI Business Manager, Alliance Business Manager, Operations, Finance, Procurement, and Applications Engineering roles. Essential Functions
Account Management
Maintain business and secure incremental growth at existing customers.
Provide direction and formal updates to the existing network of independent Manufacturer’s Representatives.
Facilitate engineering discussions and product recommendations for customers.
Cultivate long-term relationships with end-users and distributors.
Communicate PUPI and Alliance value propositions to customers.
Train and support agents to understand and communicate value propositions.
Pricing and Forecasting
Review margins and competitive positioning to price accounts appropriately.
Propose and administer customer pricing under a defined Delegation of Authority.
Manage quarterly forecasting and usage projections at accounts.
Collaboration with Inside Sales Representatives
Work with ISRs to manage order entry and quote requests.
Assist in complex order scheduling and expedite requests.
Identify customers requiring safety stock or other custom service agreements.
Territory Support; collaboration to meet goals
Track and meet KPIs for sales volumes and margins within the territory.
Support Sales Director in mobilizing resources to propose and close key accounts and projects.
Grow relationships with peers in Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Scheduling, and Finance.
Required Skills
Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships to understand and deliver customer value.
Ability to manage and influence the complex value chain when selling to electrical utilities; directing manufacturers’ reps, engaging with distributors, and working with end users to maintain preferred product position.
Demonstrated cross-departmental collaboration and the ability to create solutions that meet customer and business needs.
2-5 years of demonstrated success in Sales, Marketing, or Engineering within an industrial or manufacturing company, with understanding of the other functions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; including setting meetings, presenting positions, and following up.
Ability to analyze pricing and margin data and propose strategies based on quantitative and qualitative factors.
Understanding of forecasting techniques and related analysis.
Ability to collaborate with a small team of Inside Sales professionals in a horizontal sales organization.
Knowledge of the utility industry is preferred but not required.
Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering-related field required.
Physical Work Conditions A majority of time is spent at a desk using a computer and phone. This position is based in Stewartville, MN, with remote home-office locations acceptable based on proximity to customers. Moderate travel (~50%) is required. Candidates ideally reside in UT or CO but may live anywhere within CO, WY, MT, UT, ID, WA, or OR region.
Compensation Salary range: $120,000 – $150,000. Final offers vary based on experience, skills, and qualifications. The posted range reflects the expected earning potential within current budget and market conditions.
