Participate in on-the-job training experiences for the Sales Manager role, learn new skills about senior living, and demonstrate increasing proficiency and expertise with sales and marketing responsibilities within the Brookdale organization. The Brookdale Bench Program will prepare you to assume the Sales Manager role at one of our communities. Maintains and/or improves occupancy levels by following the marketing and business plans, utilizing established sales processes, systems, and forms to perform duties, track information, compile data and reports, and achieve occupancy goals. Manage the sales process by assisting prospective residents, their families, and/or advisors in decision making; respond promptly to inquiries; complete weekly follow-up calls, letters, and tours as defined by the community marketing plan. Coordinate and complete all activities needed for a sale and convert deposits to move-ins, including visits to prospect locations for initial assessments or sales presentations and ensuring required forms are completed by the prospect, physician, and family prior to move-in. Keep management and key associates abreast of move-in status; track and record pre-residency steps to facilitate communication. Coordinate with the business development coordinator/director on a weekly basis to meet or exceed goals for professional leads as set by the community marketing plan. Engage with local sources and manage business development activities in the absence of business development staff. Develop and maintain relationships with leads through residents, family, and professional referral sources; provide information and conduct presentations about community services, market advantages, availability, and other relevant details. Effectively manage community inventory and seek opportunities to increase revenue and create other revenue streams. Represent the community and raise awareness through outside events, professional groups, and local market involvement; plan, coordinate, and implement monthly prospect and referral source activities and events; follow up and execute the sales process with all leads from events. Assist management with resident retention through welcome events, referral programs, outside visits to current residents, and other programs per the marketing plan or leadership. Partner with management to develop and execute marketing plans to achieve occupancy goals; provide content recommendations for brochures, flyers, press releases, and other media. Monitor conversion ratios and sales performance; collect and analyze data to prepare weekly and monthly reports and communicate results to management. Maintain working knowledge of lead management systems and input all sales and marketing activities in a timely manner per system standards. Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or related field from an accredited college or university is preferred, or an equivalent combination of experience and education is required. A minimum of two to five years of sales experience, preferably in the retirement industry or medical/pharmaceutical sales, with a proven track record of generating and closing a high percentage of qualified leads is required. Certifications, Licenses, And Other Special Requirements
Frequent travel requires a valid driver’s license. Management/Decision Making
Applies guidelines and procedures to make decisions within a department; uses sound judgment and experience to solve moderately complex problems. Knowledge And Skills
Extensive knowledge of sales and marketing principles, including strategies for showing and selling products or services; knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations related to the product lines; knowledge of state regulations affecting service delivery; proficiency with smartphones, PCs, and related software; strong time management and project management abilities; ability to build trust and communicate effectively; ability to listen and communicate in writing.
