We are representing a high-growth, publicly traded energy company headquartered in Manhattan that is actively seeking a Senior Accountant. As the Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the company’s monthly accounting operations, including the month‑end close process, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements. You’ll work cross‑functionally with accounting, audit, and finance teams to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data while contributing to ongoing process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Own and execute components of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.

Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations across multiple entities.

Prepare and analyze income statement and balance sheet results, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

Assist in preparing consolidated financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure proper accounting for complex transactions.

Support internal and external audit requests by providing accurate documentation and analysis.

Maintain and enhance compliance with SOX/internal controls related to the accounting close process.

Contribute to process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and special projects as the company continues to scale.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.

CPA or CPA eligibility is a plus.

1–3+ years of accounting experience, ideally from a Big 4 or large public accounting firm (audit background preferred).

Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles related to the month-end close and financial statement preparation.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain accounting concepts and interact with multiple stakeholders.

Highly organized and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

A self-starter who thrives in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment and is looking to grow into a leadership role over time.
