Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Coordinate probate court filings and recordings, including research and familiarity with local rules and probate court
Prepare probate administration paperwork, including administration accounts, court petitions, orders, deeds, certifications, etc.
Coordinate post-death non-probate administration
Communicate with clients and professional advisors relating to routine acts of estate administration
Prepare Gift Tax, Estate Tax, and Fiduciary income tax returns.
Input financial data to prepare and file accountings
Work with clients’ financial advisors on proper titling of accounts

Education & Experience
5+ years of experience working as a trust and estate paralegal with minimal supervision
High school diploma or GED – Bachelors degree or paralegal certificate preferred
Experience in Maryland State Probate administration and knowledge of estate planning documents and concepts
Experience in local probate administration
Experience with GEMs, OneSource Estate and Trust, and CCH ProSystems platform a plus
Must know how to prepare gift tax, estate tax, and fiduciary income tax returns
Self-motivated, flexible, with exceptional follow-through skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Capable of independently managing multiple projects

Additional Information
Individual in this position will provide additional assistance and support as directed by their supervisor.
Candidate must be flexible and able to work in the office at a minimum 2-3 times a week.
Job may require occasional travel to the firm’s other offices
