Description We are looking for a skilled Accounting Manager to join our team on a contract basis in Dallas, Texas. This role requires expertise in managing multi-entity accounting processes, construction job costing, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, bringing hands-on experience and a proactive approach to delivering accurate and timely results. Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle accounting processes for a portfolio of 20-50 entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and review financial records, journal entries, and reconciliations for assigned entities.
- Oversee fixed asset reporting, including capitalization and depreciation, while applying sound judgment to classify expenses versus capital investments.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and handle reimbursements for districts efficiently.
- Maintain vendor and contract records, ensuring timely payments and organized documentation.
- Support entity transactions such as contributions, distributions, and other financial activities.
- Provide accounting assistance for both personal finances of family members and corporate accounts for associated businesses.
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure adherence to accounting standards and company policies.
- Apply expertise in construction industry accounting, specifically job costing, to manage project-related finances.
- Organize and prioritize workloads to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- At least 7 years of accounting experience, preferably with multi-entity environments, trusts, or family offices.
- In-depth knowledge of fixed assets, capitalization rules, and multi-entity accounting processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software, such as Sage Intacct, and advanced skills in Excel.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proven ability to handle high volumes of transactions while maintaining accuracy.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, demonstrating a hands-on approach.
- Experience in construction accounting and job costing is highly desirable.
