Accounting Manager Job at Robert Half in Oceanside

Description An established and expanding manufacturing and distribution company in Oceanside is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead its accounting operations and financial reporting functions. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the company's financial systems, mentor a small team, and partner with leadership to guide strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, and month-end close.
• Prepare and review financial statements, journal entries, and supporting schedules.
• Manage and mentor accounting staff, providing coaching, structure, and accountability.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP standards and ensure timely reporting.
• Lead annual audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Analyze budget variances, track cash flow, and support executive leadership with forecasting.
• Partner with operations and inventory management teams to strengthen cost and margin tracking.
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting workflows and reporting accuracy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory roles.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and manufacturing cost accounting.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
• Excellent Excel skills and comfort working with complex financial data.
• Strong communication, leadership, and analytical abilities.
