Position Summary

Role and Responsibilities
Manage the commercial credit risk for an assigned portfolio of accounts applying company’s credit practices and procedures.
Plan and schedule credit reviews and risk analysis for the assigned portfolio.
Use credit risk analysis skills and business acumen, along with available risk assessment tools and third‑party data, to analyze new account requests for open lines of credit; alert team leads to unique credit situations.
Obtain all necessary information to properly risk assess, including assigning a risk category from our Financial Health Indicator, and perform robust financial review to submit through appropriate channels for activation of credit line and assignment of account number in SAP.
Review and analyze assembled reports, scorecard data, financial statements and supplementary information such as bank and trade references, as well as payment history data, and assign a risk category to arrive at sound financial decisions that support sales while protecting Samsung’s assets.
Recommend individual credit lines or, for unqualified accounts, work with team leads to suggest viability of other hedging options or courses of action and facilitate approval of credit line or other approved solution for challenging risks.
Handle non‑routine credit inquiries and correspondence related to the portfolio, alerting team leads to potential challenges.
Consult team leads for advice on complex problems and cases requiring policy interpretation.
Monitor monthly lines of credit for customers in the assigned portfolio to ensure balances are within approved limits.
Offer support, when requested, to Service Division, Content & Services, Harmon, Dacor, Neurologica, etc., in all aspects of risk assessment of accounts receivable and provide assistance with credit processes, risk mitigation tools and hedging options.
Represent the company at creditors’ meetings, trade shows, bankruptcy proceedings or other related events as needed.
Prepare and submit departmental reports ranging from simple inter‑departmental reports to complex company‑wide reports, including quarterly reports, monthly reports, watch list reports, Z‑Credit AR forecast reports and any ad‑hoc reporting required.
Assist in mentoring new employees regarding credit policy.
Participate in customer visits as needed to obtain financials or assess overall business operations and status of assigned accounts.
Skills and Qualifications
Maintain bad debt loss ratio not greater than management plan of sales.
Perform timely and in‑depth review and monitoring of all assigned accounts (annual or quarterly review based on credit line size).
Timely preparation and submission of departmental reports, including quarterly, monthly, weekly, watch list and Z‑Credit AR forecast reports.
Maintain appropriate credit lines and hedging limits within SAP Master Report and SCES for all assigned accounts.
Communicate effectively with sales or other stakeholders on all accounts within the portfolio.
Obtain all required information to perform account reviews.
Strong financial analysis and risk assessment skills.
Solid understanding of insurance and various hedging options.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Consider a wide range of alternatives before making decisions.
Take initiative with problems and opportunities as they arise.
Handle emergencies and crises with team leads involvement.
Develop a climate of teamwork and cooperation with peers.
Communicate with people at different organizational levels.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree with focus on accounting or finance; Master’s degree preferred.
Proficiency in Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Familiarity with SAP and with accounts receivable insurance and scorecarding.
Understanding of Samsung’s business, industry, and market trends that impact our accounts.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate and interpret complex financial information, and convey findings in written and verbal form.
5–7 years of commercial credit experience performing complex financial statement analysis, spreadsheet and reporting tools, and understanding of risk/reward analysis and credit risk mitigation options.
