Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Inpatient)

Position Summary Join a medical team where the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner assists in evaluating patients. Responsible for psychiatric assessment of inpatient or outpatient populations and for consulting with the physician regarding treatment recommendations and referrals. Opportunities to work with children, adolescents, adults, military, and detox/transition patients.
Responsibilities Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, care planning, documentation, patient counseling, medication management (if authorized), and interdisciplinary collaboration to deliver high‑quality patient care.
Qualifications
Education:
Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or APRN and completion of a postgraduate program in psychiatric mental health nursing.
Experience: Preferably two or more years within a psychiatric setting, with at least two years in an inpatient environment.
Licensure: Licensed to practice in Mississippi as a Nurse Practitioner or APRN. If medication privileges are exercised, prescriptive authority from the Board of Medical Examiners is required.
