Description Piedmont Heart Institute (PHI) is recruiting a PRN Cardiac Electrophysiology Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join our APP‑driven team. Position requires both inpatient and outpatient management of patients with cardiac arrhythmias. This is a PRN position working 10‑hour shifts as needed, including days and weekends. Shifts may be available at Piedmont Fayette Hospital, Piedmont Newnan Hospital and Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. We are seeking knowledgeable, highly motivated, and dedicated APPs who have a strong desire to work in an autonomous yet collaborative environment. Our APPs independently provide specialized care for patients pre‑ and post‑electrophysiology procedures including but not limited to ablations (CTI, PVI, AVNRT, SVT, VT, etc.), CIED implantation, and provide recognition / management of diverse cardiac arrhythmias in routine and complex patient populations. As an Electrophysiology APP, you will also become competent in device interrogation and interpretation. This position will require decision‑making skills, as ideal candidates will have experience with limited supervision and work well independently.

Responsibilities

Perform high‑quality patient assessment and management, under physician supervision, in accordance with federal and state regulations, practicing evidence‑based medicine.

Participate in daily inpatient rounds with electrophysiologist.

Manage direct patient care on inpatient service including rounding, admissions, consultations, and discharges.

Manage direct patient care on designated outpatient clinics and associated follow‑up.

Order and schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients as direct patient care services are delivered.

Work minimum of one day and one weekend shift every six weeks.

Demonstrate teamwork by communicating effectively and working cooperatively with all members of the health care team.

Display respect and foster an appreciation towards all members of the PHI team.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.

Board Certified Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.

Holds current license from the Georgia State Composite Board.

BLS / ACLS certified.

Ideal candidate has at least 1–2 years of experience managing cardiology and/or electrophysiology patients.
