At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Systems Engineer Advisor you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on Systems Engineers Senior to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Defense Stockpile Management System (DSMS). The design, engineering, implementation, and operations and support of the Defense Integration and Management of Nuclear Data Services (DIAMONDS) application supports the management of the nuclear weapons stockpile accountability management and all related systems.
Responsibilities Maintaining the existing VMware vSphere 7.x environment.
Must be proficient with the following: vSphere HA, vCenter HA, Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), VMotion, Certificate management, Key Management System, Enhanced Link Mode, VCSA Backup and Recovery, Host Profile, Network configurations such as VMKernel, VMNic, distributed switch configurations, Content Libraries, and vSAN storage policies.
Candidate should be knowledgeable with how a network communicates to software and hardware appliances, including failover, Fault Tolerance, and RAID.
Maintaining VSAN 7.0 (all-flash) SSD data storage systems.
Knowledge with configuration of virtual Switches and VLANs.
Designing and building virtual environment service models including Infrastructure-as-a-Service and Platform-as-a-Service.
Ability to provide design, analysis, development, integration, documentation, testing, implementation, and user support.
Ability to perform lifecycle replacements of hardware (ability to lift 50lbs - rack hosts)
Understand power requirements / needs to support racked hardware.
Work closely with the user community and provide seamless support of virtual computing issues.
Ensuring ESXI and uptime to Central / Core virtual computing environment meets the Monthly DRRS availability rate (current DRRS rate is 99.7%).
Familiarity with vROPs (ARIA Operations), SRM, vRA, and Horizon 7 DELL EMC server hardware.
Education & Experience Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Science
8+ years of related experience
Required Qualifications Required Technical Skills: Design, build, and maintain virtualization infrastructure for a large dispersed enterprise; COOP / DR; Storage
Security Clearance Level: Top Secret to start w / SCI eligibility.
Required Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT Level II (ex. CompTIA Security + w / CE)
Required: VMware Certified Professional certification (Data Center v7.x)
Required Skills and Abilities: Provides guidance to less-experienced System Engineers; may coach and review the work of less experienced professionals; may serve as a team or task leader.
Preferred Qualifications VMware vSphere 7.x, ESXi, storage, and design / build virtual environment.
Location & Work Options Primary work location is on-site at Ft. Belvoir, telework is project specific.

Compensation & Hours The likely salary range for this position is $130,050 - $175,950. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
Travel & Telecommuting Travel Required: Less than 10%
Telecommuting Options: Hybrid
