Job #3008914. 100% onsite. Location: Suffolk, VA.
Primary Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain VMware vSphere environments (ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, vSphere Client).
Manage datastores (VMFS, NFS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel); implement and manage VMware vSAN.
Install, configure, and administer server OS including Windows Server (AD, DNS, DHCP) and Linux distributions.
Apply OS-level patches and security updates; ensure servers adhere to security baselines and compliance requirements.
Diagnose and resolve issues related to server performance, OS failures, network connectivity, and application interactions within VMs.
Develop and maintain scripts (PowerShell/PowerCLI, Bash/Python) to automate routine server and VM management tasks.
Requirements:
Clearance: Secret (Top Secret Eligible).
Certifications: CySA+, Security+, CCNA – Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP. Preferred: RHCSA, RHCDS.
Functional area certification in Windows, Linux, VMware, CCNA, Network+ required.
Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience with VMware vSphere, vSAN, Windows Server AD, Linux administration, automation scripting (PowerShell, PowerCLI, Python, Bash), networking, storage technologies (vSAN, SAN, NAS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, NFS).
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional team environment supporting the JS J7 mission.
