Description The Senior Analytics Developer is a data‑driven, business‑minded individual who uncovers insights that drive strategy and optimal decision making for the executive team and leaders throughout the organization. In this role, you will understand the ‘who, what, and why’ of our business, working cross‑functionally to realize the value of Northwestern Medicine’s data assets. You will deliver data warehouse and analytic solutions, write ETL packages, develop visualizations, perform data and statistical analyses, and administer systems to deliver information to the health system.
Responsibilities
Advocate for data accessibility, accuracy, and quality.
Identify data nuggets, trends, and analytical insights that support our mission and vision.
Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary technical and business professionals.
Deliver data warehouse and analytic solutions, including ETL development, dashboards, reports, and cubes.
Serve as functional and content expert on pipelines that synthesize raw data into actionable information.
Apply advanced SQL skills to create complex queries and stored procedures.
Assist in designing and developing information delivery components.
Support ETL design and development, including data analysis, source‑target mapping, quality profiling, change data capture, and program performance.
Evaluate data quality and interpret results in a clear, concise manner.
Document requirements, design decisions, and maintenance activities.
Own analytics projects and collaborate with business users to gather and execute on requirements.
Support multi‑department efforts and train staff on analytic tools and solutions.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree.
Four or more years of experience querying and/or analyzing data.
Experience with Microsoft SSRS, SSMS, SSIS, SSAS.
Strong SQL skills for extraction, manipulation, and reporting.
Advanced relational database knowledge and ability to create complex queries and stored procedures.
Independent work with business users to gather requirements and recommend analytical solutions.
Experience mentoring junior staff and serving as a subject matter expert.
Experience in an Agile environment.
Experience with report writing and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Crystal Reports, SSRS, Microsoft Power BI.
Experience with structured programming and development.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Access.
Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex quantitative analysis clearly.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems strategically.
Preferred
Experience designing and supporting applications and relational databases.
Prior work with Epic Clarity data.
Healthcare experience, ideally within a health system.
Statistical analysis software experience (R, Python, etc.).
