Physician - Non-Invasive Cardiologist role at U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VBA). This is a full-time position with a focus on non-invasive cardiology, including Level 3 Echocardiography training, in the Cardiology Section at VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHS). Responsibilities

The Cardiology Section at VABHS invites applications for a full-time non-invasive Cardiologist to work in the echocardiography lab and in general cardiology services, including ambulatory cardiology clinic and inpatient care. The successful candidate will engage in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Leadership pathways and opportunities to develop clinical research and/or quality improvement programs within the Cardiology Section are available, with potential participation in formal undergraduate teaching at Harvard Medical School and Boston University Medical School. Primary duties include: Work in the echocardiography lab and general cardiology services at VABHS (ambulatory and inpatient). Participate in teaching and mentoring of medical students, residents, and fellows. Pursue leadership pathways and opportunities for clinical research and/or quality improvement. Potential involvement in undergraduate teaching at affiliated medical schools. Qualifications and Requirements

Board Certification:

Board Certification in Echocardiography and Cardiovascular Disease. Level 3 Echocardiography Certification is required. Accomplishments should be commensurate with an academic appointment (Lecturer/Instructor/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School). Education and Licensure:

MD or DO from an appropriately approved medical school; current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the United States or D.C. Residency training in an accredited core specialty program leading to eligibility for board certification (ACGME or AOA approved). Additional requirements as specified in the job announcement. Experience and Academic Appointment:

Academic appointment expectations and potential involvement with affiliated institutions (Harvard Medical School, Boston University Medical School). Other Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed where recruitment of qualified citizens is not possible per VA policy); background/security investigation; English proficiency; ability to pass pre-employment screenings including urinalysis; successful onboarding; and ongoing compliance with VA employment policies.
