Role Overview The

Sr. Accountant

is responsible for full‑cycle accounting, payroll, and project accounting for our commercial construction projects. This role ensures accurate financial records, timely reporting, and smooth operations across multiple projects. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of working independently while collaborating with Project Executives, Project Managers, and vendors.

Responsibilities

Perform full general accounting duties including accounts receivable, accounts payable, expense recording, and bank reconciliations

Manage project accounting tasks including job cost tracking, draw submissions, and review of subcontractor and vendor billings

Maintain and manage payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations

Review and process lien waivers, change orders, certificates of insurance, and other project documentation

Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing processes, reporting, and financial analysis

Ensure accounting systems are organized and functioning efficiently to support daily operations

Collaborate with project teams to provide financial insights and support decision‑making

Qualifications

3+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field strongly preferred, but not required

Must have experience with payroll and project billing

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Vista by Viewpoint preferred

Strong communication and problem‑solving skills

Creativity, flexibility, and willingness to innovate in accounting processes
