ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST
ABOUT THE COMPANY Our client, a leading non‑profit organization providing a valued community service with a mission anyone can get behind, is looking for an Accounting Specialist. The organization offers a team‑oriented culture and provides its employees with the tools and training necessary to perform.
Accounting Specialist Responsibilities :
Manage Housing Related Social Needs (HRSN) program billing, including rent and utility payments for participants and invoicing the State for reimbursement.
Accurately enter invoices and participant data into multiple online portals, ensuring compliance with each system's requirements.
Prepare and submit monthly reimbursement requests in accordance with funding source guidelines.
Gather and verify supporting documentation for all invoicing.
Track multiple funding sources and apply correct billing processes depending on program requirements.
Review and code accounts payable transactions, including employee reimbursements and program expenses.
Process and verify credit card transactions, using Excel to ensure proper coding and allocations.
Support transition from MIP accounting system to Intacct.
Experience preferred for the Accounting Specialist :
Familiarity with processes within a grant / donation funded organization
Solid understanding of the general ledger, including debits / credits
Detail‑oriented with a focus on accuracy
Effective verbal and written communicator
Tech savvy with strong proficiency in ERP accounting systems and Excel
Flexibility in adapting to evolving processes and funding requirements.
