Overview
As a Junior Fiber Technician at KMM, you will install and terminate fiber and copper cabling, route and label patch panels and trays, and assist with final testing and documentation. You’ll follow industry standards and safety protocols while supporting high-performance network builds.
KMM is hiring a Data Center Junior Fiber Tech to support structured cabling and physical layer installations across data centers and network facilities. This role involves fiber and copper builds from layout through certification, with a focus on labeling, routing, and final testing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prep cables, clean fibers, and manage consumables
Support splicing setup, labeling, and closure sealing
Install patch panels, racks, trays, and fiber management systems
Pull and terminate Cat6/Cat6A, single-mode, and MPO assemblies
Perform labeling, dressing, and route verification
Assist in final testing and documentation
Maintain job site organization, cleanliness, and safety compliance
Assist in inventory tracking
Qualifications
1–4 years structured cabling or low-voltage experience
Familiar with BICSI, ANSI/TIA-568, and labeling standards
Ability to read floor plans and pathway drawings
Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
OSHA 10 certification
