About the Role The Senior Implementation Technician is responsible for the installation, termination, testing, and documentation of equipment and cabling infrastructure in mission-critical data centers and broadcast environments. This role emphasizes expertise in:
Fiber optics: Single-Mode (SM), Multi-Mode (MM), MPO/MTP systems.
Copper cabling: Twisted pair for IT and broadcast.
Coaxial cabling: Broadcast coax (SDI, RF) installation, termination, and testing.
Rack integration & equipment installation: Broadcast, IT, and A/V systems.
You will support the full deployment lifecycle — from verifying equipment deliveries, through structured cabling builds, to system testing and documentation. In addition, you will mentor junior technicians while collaborating with the Projects Engineer to align implementation with project requirements and standards.

A Snapshot of Your Responsibilities Cabling & Infrastructure
Pull, terminate, label, and test fiber optic cabling (SM, MM, MPO/MTP).
Perform fiber connector terminations (LC, SC, ST, MPO/MTP, APC/UPC).
Conduct fiber certification and testing: power meter/light source, insertion/return loss, continuity, and endface inspection.
Install, terminate, label, and test coaxial cabling (SDI, RF, and other broadcast coax types).
Perform copper cabling installation, termination, and certification (Cat6/Cat6A, patch panels, structured cabling).
Ensure cable routing, bend radius, grounding, slack management, and labeling meet FOX and industry standards.
Equipment & Rack Installation
Install racks, cable trays, patch panels, grounding/bonding systems, and underfloor support.
Mount and secure broadcast, IT, and A/V equipment into racks and consoles.
Assist in system build verification and testing.
Project Support
Verify, track, receive, and manage equipment orders and invoices.
Process equipment returns, RMAs, and exchanges.
Contribute to the organization and upkeep of installation materials and equipment in Technical Storage, while performing regular audits for accuracy, availability, and readiness.
Document installations, cabling test results, and system builds.
Communicate with the Projects Engineer to resolve design discrepancies.
Keep stakeholders informed on installation progress and risks to timelines.
Maintain and track company-owned tools.
What You Will Need Role-Specific
3+ years of successful experience installing broadcast, coax, fiber, or data center infrastructure in 24/7 live/on-air environments.
Strong knowledge of broadcast and IT infrastructure and structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI).
Proficiency in fiber (SM, MM, MPO/MTP), copper, and coaxial cable installation, termination, and testing.
Proficiency in interpreting system drawings, wirelists, and related documentation, including elevations, cable routes, wiring diagrams, cable details, and run lists.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to complete detailed technical work with precision.
Self-directed with limited supervision, maintaining high composure under pressure.
Ability to lead, coach, and mentor junior technicians.
Flexibility to work overtime, evenings, weekends, and overnights when required.
General
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to work across multiple projects and teams.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Basic proficiency with MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Slack, and Jira for communication, documentation, task tracking, and collaboration.

Extensive hands-on experience with fiber optic systems (SM, MM, MPO/MTP), including testing, analysis, and MPO polarity verification.
Experience with broadcast coaxial cabling (SDI, RF) and signal verification.
Experience installing broadcast, A/V, and IT equipment in rack and console systems.
Ability to build and test custom copper, coax, and fiber assemblies.
Comfortable working in physically demanding environments: lifting up to 50 lbs., standing, kneeling, or crouching for long periods, working in hot, cold, or confined spaces, climbing ladders or scaffolding.
