Beaver Dam, WI (Onsite with 10% travel to vendor FATs & sister sites) Salary Range:

$90,000–$130,000 annually Employment:

The Opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced SCADA Project Engineer to lead AVEVA System Platform design, configuration, and commissioning on one of the most advanced data center programs in the world. You’ll own the full SCADA lifecycle—from concept to turnover—partnering with project managers, field teams, and client representatives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

This role is ideal for a hands-on AVEVA expert who enjoys solving complex problems, engaging directly with clients, and growing into technical leadership on high-visibility projects.

What You’ll Do

Design and integrate AVEVA System Platform, Historian, and OMI dashboards for high-reliability BMS/SCADA systems.

Review I/O schedules, P&IDs, and network topologies for SCADA compatibility; issue RFIs and design clarifications.

Configure AVEVA objects, tags, alarming, redundancy, and visualization; manage PLC data exchange (Modbus, BACnet, OPC UA, MQTT).

Coordinate network and cybersecurity design (VLANs, firewalls, IEC 62443 hardening).

Lead FAT/SAT testing, commissioning, and turnover documentation.

Serve as the primary SCADA contact for clients, field teams, and subcontractors.

Mentor junior engineers and uphold Thermo’s Quality Management System (QMS).

Identify add-scope opportunities and contribute to pricing and proposal efforts.

What You Bring

Education:

B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Controls Engineering (or equivalent experience).

Experience:

4+ years with industrial SCADA systems, including 2+ years leading AVEVA System Platform projects.

Technical Skills:

PLC integration (Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider) and industrial networking proficiency.

Bonus Points:

AVEVA Certified Developer; exposure to

PI System, Insight, Predictive Analytics, or digital twins.

Soft Skills:

Strong communicator, problem solver, and collaborator comfortable in fast-paced, field-driven work.
