Assignment Details:
Start Date: 11/10/2025
End Date: 02/07/2026
Weekly Pay Rate: $18.24/hr
Schedule: Mid-shift 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM or Afternoon shift 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
Work Type: Temp-to-Perm (opportunity to extend or convert to permanent based on business needs)
Location: On-site at Emergency Department, Corporate Offices, Detroit, MI
Environment: Patient-facing, requires standing and walking for long periods
Job Description: The Patient Registration Representative is responsible for performing bedside patient registration and acting as the initial point of contact for patients and visitors. Key responsibilities include:
Follow standard operating procedures for patient reception, face-to-face check-in, pre-registration, insurance verification, and cash collections.
Perform new patient registration and update registration and insurance information accurately.
Respond to inquiries from callers and customers, advocating on their behalf to ensure needs are met.
Serve as a welcoming front door for all callers/customers, instilling loyalty and anticipating needs while managing customer relationships effectively.
Work efficiently in a fast-paced emergency department environment with frequent interruptions.
Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and clinical/non-clinical staff.
Demonstrate a self-starter attitude and willingness to learn.
Critical Information / Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of experience in patient admitting, registration, or insurance eligibility/verification in a hospital or medical office setting.
Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Ability to meet or exceed core customer service standards effectively over the phone, in person, and in writing.
Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods and provide guidance to others.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
EPIC training/experience preferred.
Experience with insurance payor systems and ICD-10 medical terminology preferred.

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
