We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and assisting with the preparation of financial statements. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Financial Reporting and General Ledger Maintenance
Prepare and maintain accurate journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger transactions.
Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
Accounts Payable and Receivable
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Monitor and reconcile discrepancies, including following up with vendors or customers as needed.
Bank and Account Reconciliations
Perform daily, monthly, and quarterly bank reconciliations.
Reconcile various accounts to ensure accurate reporting.
Budgeting and Forecasting Support
Assist in preparing and monitoring budgets.
Provide variance analyses and support for forecasting activities.
Compliance and Audit
Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and applicable regulations.
Support internal and external audit processes, including preparing required documentation.
Tax Preparation Assistance
Gather data for tax filings and provide support for tax-related inquiries.
Assist in preparing sales tax and other regulatory filings.
Other Duties as Assigned
Collaborate with team members on special projects and process improvement initiatives.
Maintain financial data integrity and confidentiality.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
1–3 years of accounting experience (preferred).
Skills and Competencies
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is a must.
Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
This role may involve hybrid or in-office work, depending on company policies.
Some overtime may be required during peak periods such as month-end close or audits.
Salary range: 60k - 80k
