Yoh has an immediate, 12-month contract opportunity for a Senior Recruiter – Media & Editorial Talent Acquisition within the media / publications industry to join our client in New York, NY.

Max Hourly Rate : $55 / hr

Schedule : 4 days onsite in NYC, 1 day remote (subject to change)

Possibility for extension or full-time offer for the right candidate

Must have prior experience recruiting for a media publications company, ie. Hearst Communications, New York Times, Gannett, Thomson Reuters, etc.

What You Will Be Doing

Lead full‑cycle recruitment for editorial roles including Reporters, Editors, Photo Journalists, and Video Journalists.

Partner with newsroom leadership to develop and implement sourcing strategies.

Manage job postings, screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and support offer negotiations.

Maintain candidate pipelines and databases using ATS tools (Workday preferred).

Ensure hiring managers receive diverse and qualified candidate pools.

Provide tools and guidance to ensure consistent interview practices across teams.

Support diversity hiring initiatives and contribute to process improvements.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet fast‑paced recruitment needs.

Who You Are

7+ years of recruitment experience, including time spent recruiting for a media organization (newsroom experience preferred).

Skilled in sourcing, interviewing, and closing candidates across various levels.

Comfortable working with senior leadership and managing executive‑level searches.

Proficient in applicant tracking systems and recruitment technologies.

Creative problem‑solver with a proactive, collaborative mindset.

Strong communicator with the ability to influence and build relationships.

Up to date on hiring trends and passionate about talent acquisition.
