Job Summary We are seeking a knowledgeable Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will document the company’s financial transactions, prepare financial statements, and manage payroll. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and has a strong understanding of best practices in accounting.
Responsibilities
Enter financial data and transactions
Analyze budgets and other financial information
Reconcile bank statements
Prepare financial reports and statements
Verify the accuracy of transactions that have been entered
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
Create accounting policies to comply with all rules and regulations
Process payroll
Support the monthly and year-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Prepare bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
Review and process vendor invoices; assist in managing accounts payable
Support accounts receivable efforts and monitor aging reports
Maintain and update general ledger accounts with accuracy and timeliness
Assist with job costing, WIP tracking, and project-related accounting
Reconcile employee expense reports and credit card transactions
Maintain supporting documentation and ensure compliance with internal control
Assist with payroll and benefits reconciliation as needed
Work directly with Controller on special projects and audits
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
Previous experience as an accountant, bookkeeper, or similar position
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Good with spreadsheets, experienced in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and basic accounting systems
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
1–3 years of accounting experience (public or private); construction or restoration industry a plus
