Job Summary The Department of Biology invites applications for a ten‑month tenure‑track assistant professor position. The successful candidate will be a biologist with expertise in cellular or molecular biology, with a preference for research focused on biomedical or closely related fields. A record of mentoring undergraduate students, or a well‑developed plan for initiating a student research program, is required.
Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate general biology and courses in the candidate’s area(s) of expertise
Conduct scholarly research involving undergraduates
Advise students
Provide service to the department, university, and community
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to work with faculty and students from diverse backgrounds
Ability to engage in interdisciplinary research
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in biology or a closely related field
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching at the undergraduate level
Research experience focused on biomedicine or related fields
Teaching experience in cell biology or genetics
