Position Summary General Atlantic is seeking an Associate, Corporate Communications to join the Marketing and Corporate Affairs team based in New York. The Associate plays a critical role in supporting and advancing the firm’s communications objectives and global brand. This individual contributes to the development and execution of high-impact communications strategies across earned, owned, and internal channels, helping shape the firm’s reputation, positioning, and thought leadership across its diversified investing platform. The role requires exceptional writing and strategic thinking skills, business acumen, and the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leaders and functional partners across a dynamic global organization.

Responsibilities Strategic Planning & Execution

Partner across the Marketing and Corporate Affairs team to support

design and implementation of proactive, strategic communications plans

that align with firmwide priorities and business objectives

Collaborate with

sector, regional, and functional leaders

to develop and execute communications programs that advance growth, business development, and reputation goals

Serve as a communications partner to

key functional groups

across the firm – such as Senior Management, Capital Solutions, Human Capital, and Portfolio Management

Support consistent messaging and narrative alignment across all communications materials globally

Identify strategic visibility and positioning opportunities, spanning conferences, events, and media, as well as deployment of creative assets across owned/paid/earned channels

Media Relations & External Positioning

Serve as a point of contact for media inquiries and manage proactive outreach on firm-related matters

Support in development of compelling messaging and materials that articulate the firm’s values, strategy, and market insights in a competitive investment landscape

Draft, edit, and review content for

press releases, Q&As, talking points, op-eds, and event briefings , ensuring clarity, consistency, and precision

Identify and pursue

proactive strategic opportunities

to tell the firm’s investment philosophy through high-impact storytelling

Support issues management and reputation initiatives, including

reactive and crisis communications planning , in partnership with leadership and external advisors

Thought Leadership & Content Development

Collaborate with agency partners and internal stakeholders to design

executive visibility programs

highlighting the firm’s thematic insights and global expertise

Contribute to the creation and editorial review of firm publications, website updates, and digital content that reinforce brand credibility and perspective with the client audience

Ensure all communications adhere to firm standards for editorial quality, accuracy, and tone

Internal Communications & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Contribute meaningfully to

internal communications programs

that foster connectivity, culture, and transparency across global offices

Collaborate with senior executives to craft leadership messages, internal announcements, and event communications

Support executive communications for firmwide initiatives including town halls, offsites, and leadership summits

Other

Ensure all communications projects are executed in conformance with legal, regulatory, risk, and compliance standards

Build a strong working knowledge of the firm and industry drivers to gain foundational insight on needs, opportunities, and channels for communications initiatives

Review and edit content to ensure language is grammatically correct and messaging is clear, concise and audience-appropriate

Qualifications

3–5 years of experience at a strategic communications agency or with a financial institution; prior agency experience and international exposure strongly preferred

Exceptional writing, editing, and messaging skills

Solid understanding of financial markets, corporate strategy, and the global media landscape

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively

Proven capability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

High degree of professionalism, discretion, and judgment when handling confidential information

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

General Atlantic offers a robust reward program to all employees that will support you and your family, maintaining fulfilling, secure and healthy lives now and into the future, which includes but is not limited to medical insurance, retirement savings contributions, mental and physical health resources and an equal pay program that allows you to earn a base salary of $120,000 - $150,000 of which the exact amount offered will be driven by the degree to which you meet role requirements, additional special skills and experience. Additional reward programs, such as annual discretionary bonuses and long-term incentive programs, are available for eligible employees and are offered as recognition for performance and one’s contributions towards the organization’s success.
