About this Role
This position plays an important role in developing and maintaining our investment technology base and delivering new platform functionalities. Youll be responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing tests for the various back-end and database systems for which SMA Solutions are responsible. You will also be expected to monitor/support our existing automated processes along with the rest of the Data Team.
Key Responsibilities
Work with Product/process engineers to create and maintain high performance, highly available, highly scalable data-driven systems—this includes but is not limited to:
- Partner with developers, product owners, and business analysts to ensure a comprehensive understanding of business processes, software implementation, and their testing requirements.
- Review proposed changes from developers and provide feedback on test plans, dependencies, and release methodology.
- Clearly communicate testing progress, challenges, and resolutions to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
- Collect, document, and report test results to greater team as part of the release approval process.
- Monitor, maintain, and enforce quality metrics.
- Collaborate with the team to improve users documentation and testing processes.
- Collaborate with QA SDET (Software Development in Test) engineers to develop and expand our test automation framework to cover back-end testing.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends, tools, and best practices related to QA automationDevelop, maintain, and execute test cases against changes, or new features, affecting our back-end (integration, database, ETL) systems.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of database development experience supporting application development teams/projects
- Strong SQL and database skills
- Practical experience writing scripts in Python (or other object-oriented programming languages)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, self-pacing, proactive attitude essential to prevent foreseeable issues/problems
Highly Desirable Skills/Experience
- Related experience in the financial or investment sector is a big plus
- Familiarity with ETL processes/tools, such as Informatica, Clover
For San Francisco, CA and Sausalito, CA Only the salary range for this position is USD$155,000.00 - USD$210,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits.
