The Controller is the financial backbone of EC Homes responsible for managing accounting operations, ensuring compliance, maintaining financial accuracy, and producing critical reports for funding and decision-making. The right candidate will have an exceptional eye for detail, thrive under pressure, communicate clearly, and move quickly while maintaining accuracy. This role is ideal for someone who is both

Financial Reporting & Funding (45%) The Core of the Role

Build, manage, and update financial reports and funding packages with speed and precision. Gather and verify data from multiple departments to ensure accuracy and completeness. Produce detailed funding requests, monitor approvals, and ensure timely check processing. Revise and refine reports based on leadership and lender feedback. Hold Accounts Payable accountable for providing timely, accurate data this function enables your success. Heavy lifting expected this is where execution, detail, and speed matter most. Company Management & Compliance (30%)

Oversee company-wide compliance across credit cards, banking, payroll, insurance, and vendor management. Maintain relationships with banks and insurance providers. Ensure all corporate records, financial documents, and compliance files are accurate and current. Manage cash flow and coordinate banking activity, draws, and reconciliations. Oversee payroll processing and ensure accuracy on all deductions, benefits, and tax filings. Recurring Operations (15%)

Manage recurring tasks such as payroll processing, insurance renewals, and vendor compliance. Ensure vendors, contractors, and insurance providers are properly documented and meet company requirements. Maintain a consistent rhythm of reporting and follow-up on all recurring financial activities. Team Oversight & Systems Accountability (20%)

Lead and mentor a small accounting team (23 staff), ensuring accuracy, accountability, and efficiency. Verify that staff are entering data correctly and keeping systems up to date. Provide feedback, hold team members accountable, and ensure deadlines are met. Collaborate cross-functionally with construction, purchasing, and project management to maintain financial visibility. Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (CPA preferred but not required). 5+ years of experience in accounting or controlling

homebuilding, construction, or real estate development experience strongly preferred . High sense of urgency and ownership gets things done without excuses. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable working under deadlines in a fast-paced, detail-intensive environment. Personality Fit
