The ideal candidate will have 3-8 years of related work experience. PLS-CADD experience and utility-scale project experience is preferred. Required software skillsets include: Autodesk AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, Experience 2D/3D or PLS-CADD. Functions in a project engineering technician capacity. Under general direction, supports engineering and design teams by developing and modifying technical deliverables. Applies foundational engineering principles and established design practices to create moderately complex design concepts and solutions. Utilizes digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables. Provides technical guidance and may offer direction to other engineering professionals and technicians to ensure quality and consistency across project outputs. Key Responsibilities
Engineering Standards:
Applies knowledge of standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, applicable codes and Black and Veatch policies and procedures. Quality / Continuous Improvement:
Proactively applies Black and Veatch Quality Program to deliverables. Demonstrates personal accuracy and supports continuous improvement and change management efforts. Reviews design inputs to ensure consistency. Assists to ensure deliverables are in compliance with codes and standards suitable for the project. Engineering Production:
Applies basic engineering principles and established design practices to develop moderately complex design concepts and deliverables. Begins to apply judgment and make decisions with respect to deliverables and input interpretation. Provides technical guidance to other professionals. Performs design calculations, material quantities and estimates, and records. May review deliverables of others. May define work assignments and maintain schedules. May program control systems or participate in start-up activities in a specialized area. Project Coordination:
Coordinates with other design group personnel to review and exchange project information. May support field activities. Client Focus:
Focuses on internal client needs while understanding external client drivers. Knowledge Sharing, Innovation and Technology:
Proactively seeks and shares knowledge of latest technologies and processes. May apply judgment in deliverables and input interpretation. People Management:
May assist with performance management, mentoring, and recognition. Provides guidance to lesser experienced engineering technicians and may mentor and delegate work. Management Responsibilities / Preferred Qualifications:
Diploma or Certificate, Associate Degree in Drafting or engineering design technology preferred. Typically a minimum of 5 years related work experience. Qualifications

Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation 2D/3D, PLS-CADD; intermediate knowledge of engineering standards, document control, and company policies; ability to interpret engineering deliverables; basic knowledge of construction, procurement, and contract administration. Non-Technical Skills:
Learning on the fly, problem solving, perseverance, time management, drive for results, communication and teamwork. Minimum Qualifications
