Position Summary The IT Project Manager IV is a senior level Project Manager responsible for managing strategic, high‑visibility initiatives or portfolios of related projects that drive transformation and business value across the enterprise. This role partners with IT and business executives to translate strategic objectives into executable programs, ensuring alignment with annual planning, IT governance, and portfolio prioritization.
The PM IV acts as a mentor, change leader, and trusted advisor within the Office of the CIO. This role ensures initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with the organization’s IT Strategy and business priorities. IT Project Managers serve as the connective tissue between stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors, driving outcomes through structure, communication, and disciplined execution.
Responsibilities
Lead large or complex enterprise IT projects that span multiple business units or domains.
Oversee large‑scale, cross‑functional programs and interdependent project portfolios.
Assemble project teams, assign individual responsibilities, identify appropriate resources, and develop schedules.
Establish and update project plans and budgets, manage deviations and forecast.
Conduct project meetings, tracking, and analysis.
Ensure project objectives are clearly documented, approved, and delivered to meet customer needs.
Manage the integration of vendor tasks, track and review vendor deliverables.
Communicate timely project status to all stakeholders.
Manage project risk, develop mitigation plans, and escalates decisions and unresolved issues.
Act as primary point of contact between IT leadership, business sponsors, and vendors.
Integrate financial, technical, and operational workstreams to ensure cohesive delivery.
Coach and mentor junior project managers and coordinators.
Partner with Finance, Legal, and Procurement to align projects to budgets and vendor agreements.
Drive lessons learned and continuous improvement within the PMO framework.
Working Relationships Cross‑functional collaboration across various business units and external vendors.
Requirements
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline.
Minimum Experience:
10 years of progressive IT project or program management experience in enterprise environments, leading enterprise or program level initiatives with multi‑million‑dollar budgets; deep understanding of IT governance, vendor management, and financial tracking.
Preferred Experience:
5+ years in the retail industry.
Licenses/Certifications:
PMP and one or more advanced certifications (PgMP, SAFe, ITIL, or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt) strongly preferred.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
