Position Summary The IT Project Manager III is a seasoned Project Manager responsible for managing complex and high-impact projects or smaller portfolios of related initiatives that support transformation and business value across the enterprise. This role collaborates with IT and business leaders to translate business objectives into actionable project plans, ensuring alignment with annual planning, IT governance, and portfolio priorities. The PM III serves as a change agent and trusted project advisor within the Office of the CIO. This role ensures initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with the organization’s IT strategy and business goals. IT Project Managers act as the bridge between business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors, driving results through structured processes, clear communication, and disciplined execution. IT project managers focus on system integration, digital platforms, data enablement, and modernization efforts that impact multiple areas of the organization.

Responsibilities

Lead medium to large-scale enterprise IT projects that may span multiple business units or domains

Oversee cross-functional programs and interdependent project portfolios as assigned

Responsible for assembling project teams, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedules

Establish and update project plans and budgets with actuals and forecasts; manage deviations from plan and project parameters

Conduct project meetings, project tracking, and analysis

Ensure project objectives are clearly documented, approved, and delivered to meet customer needs

Manage the integration of vendor tasks and track and review vendor deliverables

Communicate timely project status to all stakeholders

Manage project risk, develop mitigation plans, and elevate decisions and unresolved issues as appropriate

Serve as a primary point of contact between IT leadership, business sponsors, and vendors for assigned projects

Integrate financial, technical, and operational workstreams to ensure cohesive delivery

Coach and mentor junior project managers and coordinators as needed

Partner with Finance, Legal, and Procurement to align projects to budgets and vendor agreements

Drive lessons learned and continuous improvement within the PMO framework

Minimum Education Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Education Bachelor’s degree in a business or related discipline

Minimum Experience

7 years of progressive IT project or program management experience in enterprise environments, leading enterprise-wide or large departmental-level programs with significant budgets.

Strong understanding of IT governance, vendor management, and financial tracking.

5+ years of experience in the retail industry.

Licenses/Certifications PMP and at least one advanced certification (PgMP, SAFe, ITIL, or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt) preferred, or a willingness to obtain.

Other Requirements Travel: Minimal travel (5%)

Hours & Conditions Typically, Monday – Friday, 8+ hour days in office setting, may be able to work 1 day from home with approval.

Physical Requirements Minimal physical effort required; sitting / standing at computer for long periods of time. Ability to maneuver and lift up to 10 lbs.
