Position Managing Consultant, Environmental Health and Safety, located in the San Francisco Bay Area, California (San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Clara, etc.)

Responsibilities
Help develop and implement innovative H&S programs and strategies in the areas of Injury Illness Prevention Plan, hazard communication/chemical management, occupational health programs, safety management systems, process safety and risk management, industrial hygiene assessments, and technical support.
Identify and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Assist with collection, review, and analysis of field data to evaluate conditions, present information and implement effective solutions.
Support clients in improving safety performance by providing training, field coaching, and targeted EHS assessments.
Participate as an enthusiastic team member on various project teams and effectively complete assignments.
Learn and grow as a safety professional through frequent internal and external training and exposure to interesting projects.
Spend time onsite with clients throughout Silicon Valley and the Bay Area to help solve their most pressing H&S challenges.
Assist innovative companies develop solutions to complex technical and regulatory issues.
Develop an understanding of how your work affects clients’ business objectives and help them achieve these objectives.
Build client relationships and nurture repeat business by continuously striving to exceed expectations.
Begin building a network within and outside ERM to leverage and develop your skills.
Be an active team member on projects.
Ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
Build strong collaborative relationships with clients and ERM employees.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Engineering or related science.
4+ years of relevant experience with exposure to the technology, pharmaceutical/biotech, manufacturing, power, chemical, and oil and gas sectors preferred.
Knowledge of California regulations and local, state and federal EHS regulations.
Experience managing direct reports and/or project staff, scoping and managing project budgets and expenses highly preferred.
Ability to travel within the San Francisco Bay Area and occasionally outside the local area.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
Effectively communicate with clients, ERM employees, and vendors.
Good team player, especially during challenging situations.
Strong work ethic with a passion to learn, grow, and thrive.
Driver’s license required to operate company vehicle for frequent travel.
This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
Preferred
Master’s degree or equivalent in Environmental, Chemical, Engineering, or a related science or engineering degree.
CSP, CIH, or similar certification or qualification.
Compensation and Benefits Annual base pay ranges from $100,474 to $127,553 USD based on education, qualifications, experience and performance. A discretionary performance bonus may also be awarded. Benefits include paid time off, parental leave, medical, dental, vision, life, disability and AD&D insurance, 401(k) or similar retirement plan and additional benefits as applicable.
