Job Description As an Energy Settlement Analyst, you will account for wholesale energy purchases and sales, investigate market data disputes, identify data irregularities, create ad hoc reports, recommend process improvements, and support regulatory reporting. You will serve as the bridge between operations and finance to translate operational data into meaningful financial information.

Responsibilities

Account for wholesale energy purchases and sales within the energy market.

Investigate customer disputes over market data.

Identify and resolve data irregularities within a tight timeframe in collaboration with the Market Operator.

Create ad hoc reports for customers and internal departments.

Identify and recommend process and procedure improvements to enhance data integrity and efficiency.

Maintain active involvement in market activities and regulatory requirements.

Report results to regulatory agencies.

Monetize and track transactions; evaluate billing terms in contracts.

What You Bring

BS/BA or Master’s degree and at least 3 years of related experience (or equivalent education/experience).

Accounting and utility market experience (a plus).

Strong curiosity and attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills and teamwork ability.

Proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel) and word processing (Word).

Ability to manipulate and analyze large data sets.

Requirements

Maintain confidentiality of sensitive corporate and client information.

Understand and observe the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s Code of Conduct.

Apply applicable ACC, FERC, DOE, SEC, and Market Operator regulations and rules.

Oversee a small project or phase of a larger project (Senior level), or multiple projects with minimal guidance (Lead level).

Leadership & Advanced Responsibilities (Lead Level)

Serve as a subject‑matter expert on energy settlement processes.

Lead complex projects, provide guidance to peers, and manage project deliverables.

Collaborate with legal counsel to interpret contract provisions and pricing.

Participate in development of internal control procedures.

Act as a source of training for analysts and manage sub‑allocation processes.

Communicate status and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.

Broad business acumen with strong project management, research, and reporting skills.

Analytical ability to gather and summarize data; prioritize work and solve complex administrative problems.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Interpersonal skills to maintain positive relationships across the company.

Discretion in handling confidential information.

Proficiency with electronic data and multiple IT systems used for billing.

Ability to manipulate and analyze large data sets and produce actionable recommendations.

Knowledge of energy settlement regulations and market operations.

Minimum Qualifications (by Level)

Level II:

BS/BA or Master’s degree and 3 years of related experience.

Senior:

BS/BA or Master’s degree and 5 years of related experience.

Lead:

BS/BA or Master’s degree and 9 years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Market experience (for Level II).

Public accounting experience (for Senior and Lead).

Pay Range Salary will be determined based on candidate experience and qualifications.
