A great UHY client is seeking a
Senior Accountant
to join their team. The ideal candidate will G/L experience, manufacturing experience and a Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or related field.
The
Senior Accountant
role is a temporary, contracted position with the potential for direct hire. This is an onsite position.
Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, fixed asset capitalizations, and intercompany transactions to support accurate legal entity reporting within defined close timelines.
Execute month-end close tasks and ensure all assigned responsibilities are completed on schedule.
Maintain close checklists and monitor the status of account reconciliations to ensure timely completion and proper signoffs.
Provide data inputs for management close dashboards, including status updates and key commentary.
Record weekly payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related accrual accounts.
Manage and reconcile the corporate fixed asset subledger, including tracking construction-in-progress and tooling assets to ensure timely capitalization.
Assist in monthly intercompany reconciliations across global business units.
Collaborate with international finance teams to understand transactional flows and intercompany relationships.
Provide supporting documentation, schedules, and analysis for external financial reporting (e.g., 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, proxy filings).
Coordinate audit requests with external auditors to facilitate timely completion of quarterly reviews and the annual financial statement audit.
Ensure strong internal controls over financial reporting and compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) 404 requirements.
Support the implementation and enforcement of accounting policies in line with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements.
Assist with variance analysis at month-end, quarter-end, and year-end, including preparing flux explanations and following up on outstanding items.
Promote operational consistency and best practices across U.S. and global accounting operations.
Foster strong communication within the accounting team and across departments to resolve issues efficiently and collaboratively.
Participate in cross‑functional projects and initiatives, including system implementations, process improvements, and adoption of new accounting standards.
May supervise or mentor junior accounting staff, depending on team structure and experience level.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
2‑5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Big 4 public accounting firm experience working with multinational publicly traded companies, preferred.
Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, SOX/internal controls, and financial close processes.
Solid understanding of intercompany accounting and U.S. legal entity relationships.
Strong verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization.
Team player with the ability to collaborate across functions and regions.
Demonstrate a willingness to receive coaching and actively apply it to improve and refine skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Proficient in using Microsoft office applications, specifically Excel (pivot tables and vlookups) and Word; previous experience with CMS and OneStream a plus.
