The iOS Engineer II role is part of the Traveler Identity Experience team within the Identity organization. This mission‑driven, product‑focused role requires a strong understanding of mobile architecture, user experience, and agile development practices. You will be a key contributor to building world‑class mobile experiences that empower millions of travelers globally. As a member of the team, you will estimate engineering efforts, design and implement changes, test thoroughly, deploy to production, and triage issues. Collaboration and curiosity are essential as we build new experiences and enhance existing frameworks powering some of the world’s largest travel mobile apps at a scale few companies can match.
In this role, you will:
Build and evolve the next‑generation Expedia Group (EG) shared component library framework, adaptable across EG brands using UI frameworks like SwiftUI.
Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to co‑develop, reuse components, and solve shared challenges.
Develop and test software applications in SwiftUI and related technologies to meet design and performance requirements.
Contribute to iOS application development, delivering features that provide value to travelers and drive adoption.
Participate in code reviews to assess overall code quality and maintainability.
Apply software design principles, data structures, and design patterns to write clean, modular, and optimised code.
Promote best‑in‑class mobile development practices and drive continuous improvement within an agile team.
Write unit and acceptance tests to support continuous integration pipelines.
Ensure visual design is pixel‑perfect and leverages native iOS capabilities for an optimal experience.
Participate in weekly regression testing and collaborate with global teams on product feature development.
Stay informed on industry trends, especially in accessibility, usability, and front‑end technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
2+ years of experience as an iOS Engineer.
Proficiency in Swift and demonstrated experience developing large‑scale iOS applications.
Knowledge of core iOS frameworks such as SwiftUI and UIKit.
Experience designing and maintaining scalable features using architectures like MVVM or VIPER and common design patterns.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in cross‑functional Agile teams with CI/CD‑powered iOS repositories.
Understanding of back‑end integration with RESTful APIs; familiarity with Kotlin or GraphQL is highly preferred.
Strong focus on writing highly testable code.
Experience with A/B testing and event tracking frameworks.
Proficiency with design and development tools like Figma and Xcode; familiarity with AI tools is highly desirable.
Familiarity with the end‑to‑end app delivery process, including App Store Connect.

The total cash range for this position in San Jose is $122,500.00 to $171,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $196,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
