Job Summary:

The Global Directory Services Engineer serves as a senior technology leader and subject matter expert (SME) for Global Directory Services, including on-premises and cloud Active Directory, Microsoft Entra, and related utilities. This role focuses on maintaining a secure, organized, and automated directory environment while driving standardization, efficiency, and alignment with best practices. The engineer will collaborate across IT Architecture, Engineering, Operations, Security, Strategic Partners, and Project Management teams to deliver complex global initiatives.

Key Responsibilities: Design, install, configure, and operate Active Directory (AD), Entra, and related products and utilities. Establish and maintain standards, policies, and guidelines for AD and Entra in collaboration with information security and technology teams. Develop and support AD and Entra solutions that align with business needs and technology standards. Serve as a technical lead during project initiation, planning, and execution phases. Partner with cross-functional teams to define charters, analyze benefits, and gather requirements. Drive collaboration between infrastructure and application teams, maintaining consistent vision and strategy. Ensure compliance with Change Management, Incident Management, and Disaster Recovery protocols. Mentor infrastructure team members on AD architecture, engineering, and operational best practices. Provide escalated support for business-critical directory issues. Communicate technical strategies and architecture plans at all organizational levels. Required Skills:

7–10+ years of experience in Active Directory/Windows system administration and enterprise IT infrastructure management. Enterprise-level AD design and migration experience (multiple forests, domains, and trust relationships). Strong knowledge of AD security best practices (tiered services, GPOs, privileged access, AD health monitoring). Experience with AD backup/restore testing and ransomware protection. Proficiency with: On-prem Active Directory Azure AD and ADFS Microsoft 365 Integration Multi-factor Authentication Windows Server Core Strong leadership, communication, and crisis management skills. Comprehensive understanding of IT infrastructure (server, storage, network, virtualization, database, DR/BCP). Familiarity with public cloud models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and providers (AWS, Azure). Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive operational excellence. Desired Skills:

Experience with Microsoft AD partitioning and tiering (Red Forest, Tier 0/1/2, PAW). Familiarity with Netwrix Password Policy Enforcer, Quest Recovery Manager. Background in manufacturing environments. Experience managing AD in high-security or regulated environments.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.

High School Diploma or GED required.
