Corporate Staff Accountant

Company Confidential . A well-established real estate company is seeking a proactive Corporate Staff Accountant who can work both independently and collaboratively. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to expand their knowledge of the full real estate investment, management, and development process. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, with some direct supervision from the Senior Controller, the Corporate Staff Accountant will collaborate closely with members of the Accounting and Management teams to provide corporate and investment entity accounting, support cash management functions, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across the company’s real estate portfolio. Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance 1-2 years of real estate or corporate accounting experience Yardi or equivalent software proficiency; experience with paperless AP systems is preferable Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Proven organizational skills Self-starter capable of finding solutions with minimal supervision Ability to interact with co-workers in an articulate, courteous, and business-like manner Ability to manage competing priorities while under pressure Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team Adaptability to changing demands Effective problem-solving skills Excellent interpersonal communication skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
Assist the Corporate Controller with general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and treasury management for corporate and investment entities Track and analyze accounts receivable/payable, maintain the general ledger, and provide financial reporting support Perform certain accounting administrative duties as requested Support treasury operations and manage investor relations portals Record monthly and year-end journal entries Perform intercompany general ledger reconciliations with related party entities Bill and track corporate overhead costs to affiliated investment entities Research cash receipts, prepare related journal entries, and conduct tracking and analysis Support system automation projects, including data validation and analysis Assist in preparing the quarterly corporate reporting package Prepare quarterly reporting packages for investment entities Complete bank reconciliations Perform variance analysis Assist with the preparation of annual budgets Manage bank accounts through various banking portals Prepare or assist in preparing annual audit and tax return packages Prepare or assist with lender reporting requirements Initiate wire and ACH transfers
