Personal Injury Litigation Support Counsel - Motions & Appeals

Up to $240,000 gross per annum (negotiable based on experience and qualifications) Heilsa Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a trusted legal recruitment agency to fill this role. About the Company Our client is a well-established and award-winning personal injury law firm known for its trial excellence, client advocacy, and innovative legal strategy. The firm has built a strong reputation across Texas for its results-driven approach and high ethical standards. The role offers the chance to work alongside top trial attorneys on complex, high-impact cases. This position is ideal for a strategic and detail-oriented attorney who excels in motion and appellate practice. The successful candidate will partner with the firm’s trial lawyers to ensure cases are legally sound, strategically positioned, and thoroughly protected from pretrial through appeal. Responsibilities Draft, research, and argue substantive motions in personal injury litigation, including: Motions for summary judgment Motions to exclude or strike expert testimony Motions to compel discovery and other procedural motions Trial-related motions and in-limine matters Responses and replies to opposing motions Support trial teams on: Jury charge preparation and preservation-of-error issues Post-trial motions, including JNOVs, motions for new trial, and remittiturs Appellate strategy, writs, and appellate briefing Handle interlocutory and appellate briefs and oral arguments in both state and federal courts Conduct advanced legal research on tort, evidentiary, and procedural issues Collaborate closely with trial teams to ensure every case is trial-ready and protected on appeal Provide strategic guidance on motion practice to enhance case posture and maximize settlement or verdict outcomes Mentor junior attorneys on advanced legal writing, research, and motion practice techniques Requirements Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school Licensed to practice law in Texas; federal court admissions highly preferred Minimum 12 years of litigation and appellate experience, ideally within personal injury, tort, or complex civil litigation Proven success in drafting and arguing dispositive motions and appellate briefs Exceptional legal writing, research, and analytical skills In-depth knowledge of Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, Rules of Evidence, and appellate procedure Ability to manage multiple complex matters in a fast-paced, high-volume litigation environment Strategic thinker with a collaborative, results-driven mindset Benefits include Medical Insurance, 401(k), Paid time off, and standard paid leave/holidays Fully remote role Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Full-time Job function Legal and Consulting Industries: Law Practice Get notified when a new job is posted.
