Job Title: Sanitation Worker - SSF Night Shift
Job Description
This is a night shift position running from 9 pm to 5:30 am. The role involves working a rotating schedule, starting with a full week from Monday to Sunday and then transitioning to a 5-6 day work week. Overtime is compensated, including double time for extra hours on the seventh day. Initially, this position is a contract for 31 working days, after which there is potential for transition to a full-time role. The work environment is predominantly Spanish-speaking.
Responsibilities
Ensure detailed sanitation and upkeep of the facility, making sure all processing equipment is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized to meet established standards.
Maintain the facility and surrounding areas in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and recognized Food Safety Standards.
Remove trash and product/soil from the plant and clean floors, walls, and ceilings.
Follow directions from the Sanitation Supervisor and Leads.
Adhere to all sanitation equipment guidelines and wear protective gear provided by the company.
Essential Skills
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on sanitation.
Knowledge of chemical usage, proportions, and regulations.
Understanding of sanitation equipment and tools.
Familiarity with GMPs, Food Safety, and Sanitation Procedures.
Ability to read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Decision making and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Capability to handle difficult or sensitive situations.
Willingness to learn and adhere to safety procedures when working with moving machinery.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for garbage removal and up to 70 lbs when using power hoses.
Experience with chemical cleaning solutions such as chlorine, acid, and detergents.
