Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated sanitation worker for our day shift from 5 am to 1 pm. This role requires flexibility as the schedule initially spans Monday through Sunday, transitioning to a 5-6 day workweek. This position is contract-to-hire, with the opportunity to become a full-time employee after 31 working days. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in sanitation, preferably within a manufacturing setting. Our predominantly Spanish-speaking environment will offer onboarding in Spanish.
Responsibilities
Perform detailed sanitation and upkeep of the facility, ensuring all processing equipment is cleaned and sanitized to established standards.
Maintain the facility and surrounding areas in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and recognized Food Safety Standards.
Remove trash and product/soil from the plant; clean floors, walls, and ceilings.
Follow directions from the Sanitation Supervisor and Leads.
Adhere to all sanitation equipment and tool guidelines.
Wear specified company-provided protective gear at all times.
Essential Skills
2+ years of experience in sanitation, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of chemical usage, proportions, and regulations.
Understanding of GMPs, Food Safety, and Sanitation Procedures.
Ability to read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Capability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Effective listening skills.
Ability to handle difficult or sensitive situations.
Willingness to learn and adhere to safety procedures when working with moving machinery.
Flexibility with schedule as shift times may change; ability to work weekends and overtime.

The work environment is a bakery setting with varying temperatures, ranging from refrigerated rooms to warm areas due to ovens. Employees must comply with GMP standards. The role requires working in a cold and wet environment, with exposure to chemical cleaning solutions. The position demands physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs (and up to 70 lbs when using power hoses), performing repetitive tasks, and standing for most of the shift.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.75 - $19.75/hr.
