Waldorf Astoria Chicago is looking for a Banquet Houseperson to join the team in Chicago's Gold Coast. Recognized as one of the Best Hotels in the World and in Chicago, the AAA Five-Diamond, Forbes 4-Star Waldorf Astoria Chicago features 215 rooms, over 5,000 square feet of meeting space and 4 food and beverage outlets. The hotel is located among Oak Street retailers, Rush Street nightlife, and The Magnificent Mile. Maintain cleanliness of banquet, meeting and conference areas to meet established cleanliness and quality standards Clean restrooms, vacuum, mop, sweep, shampoo carpets, clean/wax floors, remove trash, stock and maintain supply rooms Report maintenance deficiencies for repair or replacement Ensure equipment is in full working order and report defects Project a professional manner to guests and team members Assist back of house team when requested Assist with set ups to ensure department runs efficiently Manage the set up relating to Food and Beverage functions in a timely manner Lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation Attend training provided by the hotel Qualifications
Basic knowledge of meeting room setup, service standards, guest relations and etiquette Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware Strong organizational skills Ability to work in outdoor areas Familiarity with all events happening at the hotel Ability to perform under pressure for extended periods while maintaining professionalism What we offer
